From mrosario at NYGENOME.ORG Wed Jul 1 14:35:51 2020 From: mrosario at NYGENOME.ORG (Michael Rosario) Date: Wed, 1 Jul 2020 18:35:51 +0000 Subject: [Affiliates] NYGC update Message-ID: Dear Affiliates: I hope this e-mail finds you all safe and well. As you may know, over the past 4 months, the majority of NYGC?s staff have been working remotely. As NYC has begun to reopen, we have welcomed a number of our staff back onsite. As we open up the facility to additional staff, we are also welcoming back affiliates who need to come onsite. In accordance with NYS and CDC guidelines, we have implemented new health and safety procedures at our facility. If you are planning on visiting NYGC, you will need to complete the following steps before doing so: 1. Send me an e-mail (mrosario at nygenome.org) with information about the timing of and purpose for your visit. Especially important is where you plan to be while onsite, and whether you expect to make regular visits. This will allow us to plan for appropriate physical distancing. 2. Confirm your review of our new SOP for COVID-19 Safe Work Practices (this will be sent to you separately), which includes instructions on what to do while onsite. 3. Complete an online health certification before you arrive onsite (note this must be completed before each visit). Note that the building has implemented a number of new safety procedures in the lobby and front reception area, including requiring that you wear a face mask upon entry and restricting the number of people traveling in each elevator. Signs have been posted throughout to serve as reminders. You?ll also note a number of physical modifications to our facility, including reduced seating capacity in rooms, new tables set up in open-space areas to accommodate physical distancing, and additional hand sanitizer stations. Staff and visitors are required to wear face coverings while onsite and they are available if needed. You may be aware that our onsite events have been made virtual through year-end and will start up again after the summer. Check our website for updates as we get closer to September. While these are unusual times and we are all experiencing some form of change in our day-to-day activities, bringing the community together remains a core objective of the NYGC and we are looking forward to seeing you when we can. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly.
